A Filipino fishing vessel with 15 crewmembers was attacked while operating off Laud Siroman island, Zamboanga peninsula. 5 armed men on board a speedboat fired on the vessel killing 8 crew. 5 of the crew jumped overboard and swam to a nearby island while 2 others who remained on board were unharmed. The attackers fled afterwards and 2 coast guard vessels have been dispatched to search the area.
