(1) Incident Type : BOARDED  |  Vessel Type : CHEMICAL TANKER
1730UTC  | 26 March  |  Posn: 13-43.07N 121-02.20E | Batangas Anchorage, Philippines

The duty crew onboard an anchored chemical tanker at Batangas anchorage was carrying out routine rounds when he noticed there was a robber on the forecastle. As the duty crew approached the robber threatened him with a knife. The duty crew raised the alarm and retreated. Upon seeing the crew alertness the robber made his escape in a boat. A thorough security check was carried out and ships properties were found to be missing.

 

(2) Incident Type : SUSPICIOUS APPROACH  |  Vessel Type : CRUDE TANKER 
 1254UTC  | 26 March  |  Posn: 01-07.00S 103-32.30E | Pulau Nipha, Indonesia

A crude tanker underway approximately 7.1NM WSW of Pulau Nipah was approached by 2 suspicious speed boats with 2-3 persons in each boat. Master took evasive actions, sounded the ship’s horn and directed the signalling lamp towards the boats. At a distance of 15 metres from the tanker the boats aborted and moved away. The tanker continued her passage.
