(1) Incident Type : SUSPICIOUS APPROACH |  Vessel Type : OFFSHORE SUPPLY VESSEL
1803UTC  |  16 May |  Posn: 03-32.00 N 126-23.00E |  Southwest of Kepulauan Talaud, Indonesia

An offshore supply vessel was approached whilst underway, approximately 26nm Southwest of Kepulauan Talaud. A small speed boat was able to close to within 30m of the vessel. The crew on-board spotted the speedboat and raised the alarm. The crew mustered, and the vessels fire hoses were activated. Upon seeing the alerted crew and the measures taken by the vessel the suspect speed boat aborted its approach and moved away.

 

(2) Incident Type : SUSPICIOUS APPROACH  |  Vessel Type : CARGO VESSEL
0330UTC  |  17 May |  Posn: 14-41.15N 051-03.43E |  Gulf of Aden

A vessel was approached within 1nm by 7 skiffs from both port and starboard quarters. Each skiff had 4 to 5 persons on board. Skiffs continued to follow the vessel for 30 minutes. Vessel reported as safe.

 

(3) Incident Type : ATTACKED  |  Vessel Type : CARGO VESSEL
1120UTC  |  19 May |  Posn: 03-59.19N 005-46.05E | Southwest of Port Harcourt, Nigeria

A Cargo vessel was attacked and boarded by pirates whilst at anchor. 6 crew members including the captain has been kidnapped . The nationalities of the 6 kidnapped crew members have been confirmed as German (Captain), Russian (Chief Engineer) and Filipino (the four crewmen). The vessel is now safe and berthed at Bonny, Nigeria.
