A passenger boat was chased by 1 speed boat with armed men onboard whist voyaging south Okrika. The Passenger boat carried out evasive manoeuvres and managed to reach the Onne Port area and the aggressors ceased their chase. The boat then was boarded and robbed whilst voyaging from Port Harcourt to Bonny with 20 passengers on board. It was passing south Okrika-Ngerebo when approached by 1 speed boat with a 75Hp outboard engine. Due to the passenger boat having mechanical issues with 1 of her engines, 4 robbers armed with AK47s were able to board. They robbed all passengers of their personal belongings and stole the only functional engine. The robbers fled the scene leaving the passengers and the boat adrift in the waterway. 1 passenger who had hidden her mobile phone managed to call the Bonny Marine Transporters Association, all persons were rescued and taken to Bonny.
