0930UTC | 21 October | Posn: 03-40.00N 007-02.00E | South of Bonny Island, Nigeria

A Liberian flagged container vessel has been attacked whilst underway 40nm South of Bonny Island. 1 black hulled speedboat with 2 outboard engines and 8 armed pirates onboard, approached the vessel and the pirates were able to get onboard. 6 crew members have been kidnapped.

1834UTC | 20 October | Posn: 03-55.00N 006-39.00E | Southeast of Brass Terminal, Nigeria

A Nigerian flagged service vessel was attacked whilst underway 24nm Southeast of Brass Terminal. 8 armed pirates on board a black hulled speedboat around 12 meters long and with 2 outboard engines, approached the vessel at a speed of 27 knots. The Master carried out evasive manoeuvres and increased speed to 22knots. The pirates opened fire on the service vessel which resulted in the armed security team on-board to return fire. The situation continued for 25 minutes. The speedboat aborted and headed south.
