A bulk carrier was attacked south of Brass, Nigeria. 1 speedboat with armed pirates managed to board the vessel and kidnapped Captain and 9 crew members.

0715UTC | 14 December | Posn: 13-56.30N 049-51.30E | Southeast of Mukallah, Yemen
A bulk carrier was approached whilst underway 60nm southeast of Mukallah, Yemen. A total of 3 skiffs with 4 people on board approached to within 200m. Vessel evaded the approach and is continuing on her voyage.
(3) Incident Type : SUSPICIOUS APPROACH | Vessel Type : CARGO VESSEL
0128UTC | 14 December | Posn: 03-58.30N 006-12.40E | South of Brass, Nigeria
A cargo vessel was approached whilst underway approximately 18nm south of Brass. Upon sighting the boat approaching, a distress call was issued, alarm raised and the fire hoses activated. The pirates attempted to board the vessel twice, with no success.
(4) Incident Type : BOARD (ROBBERY) | Vessel Type : SUPPLY VESSEL
2155UTC | 07 December | Posn: 00-44.40N 104-08.10E | Galang Anchorage, Indonesia
Robbers were able to board an anchored supply vessel at Galang lay-up anchorage. Duty crew spotted robbers armed with crow bars and raised the alarm. Upon seeing the alerted crew, the robbers escaped with items from the ship's stores.
(5) Incident Type : BOARD (ROBBERY) | Vessel Type : TANKER
1940UTC | 07 December | Posn: 01-27.83N 104-39.13E | Pulau Bintan, Indonesia
A Liberian Flagged tanker was boarded by robbers whilst anchored 15nm north-northeast of Tanjung Berakit. 4 robbers dressed in black and armed with knives and swords, were able to board the vessel from a small boat and restrain the 2nd engineer who was working in the engine room. The robbers forced entry into the spare parts store and made their escape with 2 bags of stolen engine parts. A full search was conducted following the incident, but no robbers were located.
