A tanker was boarded by 2 robbers in Lagos Anchorage. Whilst on routine rounds the duty crew noticed the robbers and raised the alarm resulting in the robbers escaping overboard into their small motor boat. After further investigation it was reported that a small boat with 5 persons on board was spotted around the port quarter of the tanker 1 hour prior to the incident. No ship's properties were reported as stolen. The vessel and crew are reported as safe.
