A Marshall Islands flagged tanker was hijacked whilst anchored at Cotonou Anchorage. The vessel was reported missing by the operators in the early hours of the morning on the 10th January after communications and all tracking capabilities were lost.

[UPDATE]

Following a resolution process with the pirates holding the vessel, the tanker and crew were released on the 16th January. The vessel has arrived in Lagos, Nigeria and all 22 crew members are reported safe.
