SHIELD INTERNATIONAL SECURITY

(1) Incident Type : SUSPICIOUS APPROACH | Vessel Type : YACHT
0530UTC | 18 February | Posn: 13-59.02N 051-40.01E | Gulf of Aden

A yacht was approached by 3 skiffs. The Master reported the approaching skiffs to the UKMTO. A helicopter was deployed by a CTF51 Coalition vessel that was in the area and conducted some fly overs which resulted in the skiffs moving away.

(2) Incident Type : BOARD (ATTEMPTED ROBBERY) | Vessel Type : TANKER
0001UTC | 18 February | Posn: 06-17.31N 002-30.12E | Cotonou Anchorage, Benin

Unauthorized personnel boarded a tanker in Cotonou Anchorage, all crew members retreated to the Citadel. Benin Navy dispatched 3 Navy patrol boats. Navy personnel boarded and searched the tanker but couldn't find any unauthorized personnel on board.

[UPDATE]
It was an on duty crewman who noticed 3 armed men onboard and raised the alarm. During this incident, the ship's office porthole was damaged due to gunshots. 

(3) Incident Type : ATTACK | Vessel Type : CARGO VESSEL
1950UTC | 15 February | Posn: 03-43.00N 007-06.00E | South of Bonny, Nigeria

A cargo vessel was attacked whilst underway approximately 40nm south of Bonny. As the speedboat approached from the starboard, the pirates fired shots. A security vessel intervened by firing shots at the approaching speedboat. This resulted in the pirates aborting their attack.
