(1) Incident Type : ATTACK | Vessel Type : TANKER
0830UTC | 19 February | Posn: 04-02.00N 006-26.00E | Southwest of Bonny, Nigeria

A Panamanian flagged tanker was attacked 36nm Southwest of Bonny Fairway buoy. Pirates onboard a speedboat, approached the tanker and opened fire. A security vessel provided protection to the tanker, resulting in the pirates aborting their attack. All crew members have been reported as safe.

2120UTC | 18 February | Posn: 04-03.00N 006-41.00E | Southwest of Bonny, Nigeria

A tanker was attacked whilst underway, approximately 20nm Southwest of Bonny Fairway Buoy. The crew deployed anti-piracy measures before retreating to the citadel. Nigerian Navy sent a vessel to support the tanker, resulting the pirates aborted their attack.
