(1) Incident Type : GENERAL ALERT | Vessel Type: NOT APPLICABLE
0600UTC | 01 August | Posn: 06-07.00N 118-04.00E | Off Gulisan Island, Malaysia

It has been reported by Philippines intelligence that the Abu Sayef Group are planning to conduct kidnappings off Gulisan Island. The Group are targeting foreign persons and vessels. The report states that the Abu Sayef Group have spotters in the area that will guide other operatives on the water to Gulisan Island as they execute their kidnapping plan. Vessels are advised to take extreme caution.

(2) Incident Type : BOARD (ROBBERY) | Vessel Type: SUPPLY VESSEL
0215UTC | 25 July | Posn: 04-47.50N 011-50.20E | Pointe Noire Anchorage, Congo

Robbers were able to board an anchored supply vessel at Pointe Noire Anchorage. Duty crew conducting routine rounds discovered the padlock on the forward rope store had been broken. The alarm was raised and a full search was conducted. No perpetrators were found however it was discovered that a rope had been stolen.

(3) Incident Type : BOARD (ROBBERY) | Vessel Type: BULK CARRIER
2220UTC | 20 July | Posn: 00-14.00S 117-32.05E | Muara Berau Anchorage, Indonesia

Duty Officer on board an anchored Bahamas flagged bulk carrier at Muara Berau anchorage observed suspicious activity on the forecastle deck and immediately raised the alarm. The crew made their way forward and discovered a small boat with 4 persons on board moving away with stolen ships stores.

(4) Incident Type : BOARD (ROBBERY) | Vessel Type: CONTAINER SHIP
1100UTC | 19 July | Posn: 22-13.00N 091-43.00E | Chittagong Outer Anchorage, Bangladesh

A robbery occurred on a Panama flagged container ship whilst anchored at Chittagong outer anchorage. The robbers boarded the vessel and stole three mooring ropes. The theft was discovered by the duty crew on routine rounds. The Bangladesh Coast Guard was informed and a patrol boat was sent to search the vicinity. The patrol boat manged to identify the robbers and recover the stolen mooring ropes which were then returned to the vessel.

(5) Incident Type : SUSPICIOUS APPROACH | Vessel Type: CARGO VESSEL
0900UTC | 11 July | Posn: 01-53.00N 006-44.00W | South of San Pedro, Cote d'Ivoire

A general cargo vessel was approached by a fishing type vessel approximately 40 metres long with a derrick at the stern 160nm south of San Pedro. The alarm was raised and the cargo vessel increased speed and engaged in anti-piracy manoeuvres. After an unspecified time the suspect vessel stopped approaching. Vessel and crew are reported as safe.
