Pirates managed to board the bulk carrier and kidnap a number of crew members. The remaining crew are currently taking the vessel to Bonny. Further updates shall be informed once available.

0350UTC | 22 September | Posn: 03-37.00N 006-40.00E | Southwest of Bonny Fairway Buoy, Nigeria
A bulk carrier was approached whilst underway 40nm southwest of Bonny Fairway Buoy. As 1 speedboat began her approach, the Master of the Bulk Carrier increased speed and carried out anti-piracy measures. The on-board armed security fired a warning shot resulting in the speedboat aborting her approach.
(3) Incident Type : BOARD (ATTEMPTED ROBBERY) | Vessel Type: TANKER
2345UTC | 20 September | Posn: 06-16.51N 003-13.16E | Lagos Anchorage, Nigeria
An anchored tanker was approached by 2 boats at Lagos anchorage. The crew spotted 2 unauthorised personnel on the Main Deck. Upon being challenged by the crew, the persons escaped using a rope tied to the vessel. Nothing was reported to be stolen.

1545UTC | 20 September | Posn: 04-37.00N 007-10.00E | Boloama Creeks, Nigeria
7 robbers armed with AK 47 rifles in a black speedboat powered by 2 85hp outboard motors attacked a passenger boat in the Boloama creeks, Bonny Local Government Area. The 20 passengers onboard were robbed of their belongings and were abandoned in a mangrove swamp close by. The robbers stole the passenger boat which was powered by 2 75hp outboard motors.

Whilst transiting the waterways around the Oluasiri, Membe, a passenger boat belonging to an oil company was attacked by pirates resulting in the abduction of 10 personnel. Later, some of the passengers were released with the exception of a surveyor and a community affairs officer.
