A tanker was approached whilst anchored at Lagos Anchorage. Duty crew on watch heard an outboard engine close to the tanker but could not see any lights when searching for the vessel. The alarm was raised and the ship's forward horn was sounded. The onboard fire pumps were already running with the hoses and nozzles set on spray mode as a precaution. The suspicious boat was then spotted approaching on the port bow before quickly moving away from the tanker. .
