SHIELD INTERNATIONAL SECURITY

(1) Incident Type : ATTEMPED ROBBERY | Vessel Type: SUPPLY VESSEL
0235 UTC | 15 December | Posn: 04 40.13N 007 09.05E | NIGERIA

Robbers managed to board an anchored supply vessel at the Federal Ocean Terminal at Onne anchorage using a small wooden canoe. 1 robber was observed crossing the deck of the vessel and the alarm was raised. The port security requested assistance. The robber escaped overboard empty handed upon realising that he had been discovered. it was also reported on the same day at 02:40 that another vessel was boarded whilst at anchor midstream of the port.

(2) Incident Type : PIRATE ATTACK | Vessel Type: TANKER
0004UTC | 15 December | Posn: 03-56.00N 004-53.66E | Gulf of Guinea

A tanker has been attacked whilst underway 87nm west of Brass, Nigeria. The pirates fired shots at the tanker, the onboard armed security team returned fire resulting in the pirates aborting the attack. All crew members managed to retreat to the Citadel during this incident.

(3) Incident Type : ATTEMPED ROBBERY | Vessel Type: CONTAINER
2016UTC | 09November | Posn: 06-00.00S 106-54.00E | Indonesia

The duty crewman on board an anchored container vessel at Priok anchorage observed three robbers on the aft deck and immediately reported to the Duty Officer. The alarm was raised and a PA announcement made resulting in the crew mustering on the bridge. The Master contacted the ships agents and Pilot station and the local authorities boarded to assist and investigate.
