(1) Incident Type : ROBBERY

A robber was able to board an anchored tanker at Monrovia Port. Duty crew members conducting routine rounds spotted 1 robber armed with a knife, near the lube oil store. The alarm was raised resulting in the perpetrator jumping into the water to escape. A full search was conducted which revealed that ten cans of lube oil had been stolen. It is reported that three security guards were stationed onboard the vessel but did not witness the incident. The Master attempted to notify Monrovia port control via VHF but did not receive any response.

(2) Incident Type : PIRATE ATTACK

A Cameroon flagged cargo vessel was attacked whilst underway close to parrot island by pirates in a speed boat. After firing shots at the vessel, the pirates boarded and robbed the crew of their valuables. As they made their escape, the pirates abducted one passenger.
