(1) Incident Type : Attempted Robbery
1210 UTC | 3 May | Posn: 06-16.07N 003-13.11E | NIGERIA

An attempted robbery took place on a tanker at Lagos Secure Anchorage Area. 2 robbers were spotted by the duty crew with a hose near the cargo tank. The alarm was raised, and crew mustered. The alert caused the robbers to make their escape. Nothing was reported stolen. A patrol boat was informed and searched the area.

A possible incident involving a tug, 85nm South of Bonny has been reported. Authorities stated that the Tug involved in this incident has been classed as Hijacked. The vessel was escorted by Navel Assets. It has been reported that the Equatorial Guinea Navy have boarded the Tug and arrested a number of pirates.

(3) Incident Type : Attempted Robbery

Robbers boarded an offshore supply vessel while berthed in the Federal Ocean Terminal, Onne Port Rivers State. The robbers managed to board the vessel by means of a canoe, once 2 robbers boarded they where seen by an on duty crew member who raised the alarm. Once the robbers where seen they made good their escape. Port security have been informed of this incident.

Robbers boarded a bulk carrier, unnoticed in Dumai Port. A member of the ship’s crew noticed that the robbery had taken place when finding the spare parts room broken into in the engine room. The alarm was raised, and a search carried out, identifying that spare engine parts had been stolen. There have been no reports of harm to the ship’s crew.

1100 UTC | 12 May | Posn: 5-58.07N 001-11.77E | TOGO

A Tanker has been hijacked from Lome Anchorage Area, Togo. The Tanker started to depart the anchorage area without informing the Navy. The Navy then attempted to communicate with the tanker via VHF, due to not receiving a reply to the radio calls the Navy sent a patrol boat to investigate, which resulted in the Navy ordering the vessel to stop. The vessel finally replied stating they will return to the anchorage area, but the vessel continued to exit the anchorage area. A report from another vessel in the area was sent over VHF radio to the Navy stating they have rescued a person from the water, this person confirmed he jumped overboard and is Captain of the Tanker in question. The Captain then confirmed that the Tanker has been taken by Pirates. The Navy communicated with the Pirates onboard the Tanker and have fired warning shots. the vessel was at Lome anchorage. 8 pirates have been apprehended and handed to authorities for further investigation. The Tanker berthed at Lome and all crew are accounted for.

A service vessel has been attacked by pirates in the area of Seriakiri. A number of pirates were able to board the service vessel which was involved in carrying out oil installation inspections. Once onboard the pirates kidnapped four Nigerian crew members including the Pilot and escaped in their speedboat.

An anchored bulk carrier has been boarded by robbers at Conakry anchorage. The robbers approached the vessel by speed boat and boarded the vessel using a ladder. Once onboard they stole crew members belongings and then made their escape.

(8) Incident Type : ROBBERY
UNKNOWN TIME | 16 May | Posn: 05-08.43N 005-29.07E | Delta State, Nigeria

Robbers managed to board a passenger vessel transiting within the Burutu River, Ndoro Axis. The robbers proceeded to steal passengers belongs before making their escape.

(9) Incident Type : ATTEMPTED ROBBERY
1400 UTC | 22 May | Posn: 00-53.52S 131-14.36E | Indonesia

An anchored bulk carrier has been boarded by robbers at Conakry anchorage. The robbers approached an attempted robbery took place on an anchored sailing vessel 0.18nm south east of Pulau Doom, Sorong. The robber approached in a fishing boat attempting to steal the sailing vessel's dinghy. The skipper of the sailing vessel used his hand lamp and shouted at the robber to warn him off, resulting in the robber letting go and moving away. The incident has been reported to local authorities.

1030 UTC | 23 May | Posn: 03-43.00S 114-26.03E | Indonesia

Robbers were able to board an anchored bulk carrier at Taboneo Anchorage. Duty crew spotted seven robbers armed with knives and raised the alarm. The robbers threatened the duty crew members with their knives before escaping with stolen items of ships property. The incident was reported to Taboneo Port control who dispatched a patrol boat to investigate.

0730 UTC | 25 May | Posn: 05-02.00N 005-45.00E | Nigeria

A passenger boat carrying five passengers has been attacked by pirates near Clough Creek Flow Station, Nigeria. A soldier and one passenger have been killed during the attack with the remaining passengers being abandoned within the mangrove. The Passenger boat outboard engine was then stolen by the pirates as they made their escape. A military gunboat provided support, intercepting the pirates with crossfire but they managed to escape within the creeks after a short chase.

2100 UTC | 26 May | Posn: 14-32.56S 040-39.16E | Mozambique

A robbery occurred on an anchored tanker at Nacala inner anchorage. Robbers managed to board the vessel and steal ships stores unnoticed before escaping. The incident was discovered during routine rounds.

(13) Incident Type : ROBBERY
1652 UTC | 28 May | Posn: 05-59.08S 105-57.08E | Indonesia

A bulk carrier at D6 Berth, Cigading Port was boarded by robbers. The duty watchman on routine rounds noticed that 2 robbers were in the steering gear room and immediately informed the Officer of the watch. Who raised the alarm and sounded the ship's whistle and PA announcement made. After searching the vessel, the ship's crew found steering room's lock broken and engine spares stolen.
