Pfc. Brian. P. Odiorne, 21, of Ware, Massachusetts died Feb. 20, in Al Anbar Province, Iraq, from a non-combat related incident.
The incident is under investigation.

Defense Department identifies soldier who died in non-combat incident in Iraq Staff report The Defense Department has identified the soldier who died Monday from non-combat related injuries in Iraq.

Pfc. Brian Odiorne, of Ware, Massachusetts, died in a non-combat incident while supporting Operation Inherent Resolve in Anbar Province, Iraq. He was deployed with 2nd Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, a unit from Fort Hood,Texas.

The incident is still under investigation and officials have not released any further information related to the incident or cause of death. Odiorne, 21, joined the Army in October 2015 as a cannon crewmember.
He had been assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division since May 2016. His awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal and Army Service Medal.
He will be posthumously awarded the Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal and Overseas Service Ribbon, officials said.
